Cape Town International Airport (IATA: CPT, ICAO: FACT) is the main international gateway to Cape Town metropolitan area in South Africa, being the second-busiest airport in the country and the third one in Africa.


It handles flights to several destinations in Africa, Europe and Asia. On the other hand, Cape Town Airport has also direct flights to Johannesburg and Durban and other places around South Africa. Cape Town Airport is located in Matroosfontein, approximately 12 miles (20 km) south-east from Cape Town city centre.

CPT Airport is a hub for Airlink and FlySafair and a focus city for South African Airways.

Cape Town International Airport handled 10,979,946 passengers in 2019.

During 2020, due to coronavirus crisis, Cape Town Airport registered only 2,386,121 passengers.
